The story encompasses an existentialist’s perspective with the protagonist exploring various elements of existentialism including alienation, freedom, death, hope and despair. The protagonist of the story is a middle-aged man, Murk Zilch around whose existential crisis the story revolves which is triggered by a sudden life event. The entire plot is divided into three chapters each beginning with a quote summarising the conceptuality dealt by every chapter.

As Friedrich Nietzsche’s Zarathustra (Thus Spoke Zarathustra) climbed down the mountain to impart wisdom, Murk sets his foot onto a journey of climbing the mountain to reap wisdom.
